Dr. Harshavardhan Ghorpade followed his MBBS, MS and DNB with a fellowship in Phacoemulsification Cataract surgery where he performed a large no of complicated cataract surgeries. He also trained for the same under Dr. TP Lahane who is a world record holder Cataract surgeon. Dr. Ghorpade has performed more than 5000 phacoemulsification cataract surgeries and many other eye surgeries including Ocular trauma.
He then went to the UK for further training in Cornea, Ocular surface and Refractive surgeries (LASIK). He worked under world renowned Cornea specialist and current President of the Royal college of Ophthalmology, Prof HS Dua. He then followed it up with one more fellowship in Cornea and external diseases in Belgium at the renowned centre in Ghent. This was followed by an advanced course in LASIK and Femto LASIK with Dr. Rupal Shah who is a pioneer of laser refractive surgeries in India.
Dr. Ghorpade recently added another feather to his cap by passing the FRCS (UK) exam in flying colors. He is also a fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology.
