Center for Eye Donation and Keratoplasty
Ours is the only center to be accredited in the vicinity for this surgery. This surgery gives vision to those blinded by Opacification of their Corneas. The Damaged Cornea is replaced by a Clear Cornea taken from Donor. It also includes lamellar surgeries of the Cornea and Keratoprosthesis (Artificial Cornea) surgery.
Center For Paediatric Oculoplasty
This is a new field and currently being practiced only at select centers around the world. It involves plastic surgeries of the eye for children and includes inverted or everted eyelids, droopy eyelids, protruded eyeballs, closed eyelids and others.
Center for Sports Ophthalmology
This is also a new field of medicine that dramatically improves the visual performance of players in sports like cricket, swimming, tennis, shooting etc. This involves eye training for sportsmen and includes dynamic movements, tracking, accommodation speeds, focus and concentration, colour, contrast, speed and many more parameters.
Refractive Surgery
This means surgeries done to minimize dependence on glasses. This includes Intraocular lens placement (Monofocal aspheric, multifocal and toric), and LASIK (Laser Refractive Surgery – both with Blade and Bladeless). The facilities are state of the art.
Emergency Ophthalmology including Trauma
This is exclusive to Fortis due to the hospital set up with backup from anaethetists, intensivist, cardiologists, orthopaedics, radiodiagnostics and neurosurgeons. This service is available 24 x 7 and provides rapid care for eye emergencies like Trauma, sports, burns, chemical injuries etc to save the vision of patients.
